The Turkey Bowl originated in 2000 as a backyard game of football played by old teammates while being at home over the Thanksgiving holiday.  In time, the love of the game and publicity of the game rose so much that more athletes came in, t-shirts were printed, trophies given, fields got painted, and even referees were now showing up to the game.

 

The Turkey Bowl also has a special photographer that travels a great distance every year to shoot the game in both photo and video.  Having athletes that range from 18 - 55, the Turkey Bowl has had an economic impact on the city of Pageland as the draft night and pre-party are annually held at local bars/restaurants. The slogan of " Blood, Sweat, & Groin pulls" was coined in 2007 which was the same year that the Turkey Bowl got its first Logo design on an official T-Shirt.  We also have many fans that come out to watch this awesome display of athleticism.  Many fans enjoy heckling players during the game, but its not unusual for a player to return the harassment back to the fans.  So, if you are around the town of Pageland on Thanksgiving day or you wish to play in the Turkey Bowl, feel free to come on over and get in the action...someone will pull a hamstring soon enough and you'll get to play!
